CECA News

Evergreen is a new suburban residential neighbourhood in the SW quadrant of Calgary that edges near the breathtaking Fish Creek Provincial Park, which at almost 2,300 acres, is one of the largest urban parks in North America. It’s a fantastic place to walk, run, bike or picnic all year round. Just to the south of this community is the picturesque Spruce Meadows horse-jumping complex that captivates worldwide audiences.

A 5-minute drive west on highway 22x, places you out in the peace and tranquility of the countryside viewing the foothills of the majestic Canadian Rockies in the distance. Close proximity to an abundance of amenities and major access routes makes the Evergreen Community one of the best places to live in Calgary!

East - Fish Creek Blvd to James McKevitt Rd to 162 Ave SW
South - 162 Ave SW & South East of the Tsuu T'ina First Nation Reserve

THERE ARE TWO Evergreen Communities?

The city of Calgary maps Evergreen as one community, but we are recognized as two separate communities:

  1. Shawnee/Evergreen Community Association (SECA)
  2. Calgary Evergreen Community Association (CECA).

The original community of Evergreen Estates was a much more established area, with houses constructed in the early 90’s. They felt a newer developing community's concerns would be greatly different from those of an established community. Hence, we now have the two seperate community associations.

So who belongs where? It is simple!

Anyone living on a street called EVERGREEN (i.e. EVERGREEN Street, Road, Way, Blvd, Terrace, Hill, Park, Common, Heights, Drive, Mews, and so forth) is in the SECA. Everyone else is under the jurisdiction of the CECA.
